Summer Reading Literacy Workshop
Focused practice can change your reading trajectory
Reading successfully is comprised of five separate skills that must be practiced and developed through the school years. Summer can offer an opportunity for these to slide, or to develop further in preparation for next school year’s demands. Join Alex, Academic and Executive Function coach, over the summer to develop and hone these skills that will help you return in the fall confident instead of rusty!
Topics will include:
Learning the importance of reading in today’s world academic world
Decoding and developing fluency
Finding textual evidence, making connections, completing graphic organizers
Developing confidence for reading aloud
Details:
Length: Four 60-minute interactive workshops on Sundays in late July and August
Who Should Attend: Students 5th-11th
Location: 376 SW Bluff Drive - Suite 1
Cost: Depends on frequency
*Scholarships available for select families that qualify.
